Befriending Your Body:
The Role of Self-Compassion and Embodiment in Eating Disorder Recovery
with Dr. Ann Saffi Biasetti
Eating disorders are an attempt to feed the soul, to connect to a deeper place within. The inability to hold self-compassion is evident in those suffering from an eating disorder, as evidenced through self-critical, self-loathing, perfectionistic mindsets and self-destructive behaviors. To the contrary, self-compassion is known as a mediator of self-criticism, a soother of harsh perfectionism and an instigator toward self-care. Together with embodiment, self-compassion has the capacity to assist one into not just recovery of a body, but freedom in body, mind and self.
FEE: $40 per person. Pre-Registration required.
