One Big Roof
My yoga training is varied; hatha and Kripalu are at the heart of this practice. This morning class will focus on beginner to intermediate level of gentle Kripalu style yoga. Starting the session with relaxing music & deep breathing, 3 part and Ujjayi breath will help the practitioner become centered in the moment and enjoy a meditative state of relaxation. We’ll warm up with gentle pratapana postures to loosen up the lower, middle and upper back. During the pratapana we will focus our breath to the movements, allowing the student to warm up the joints and muscles for a particular posture and feel how that breathing serves the experience of the pose. During class students can explore the edge of sensation within a range of motion, creating anatomical and psychological safety for more prolonged holdings in later postures. I focus on safe and proven core postures, as they will be very important in building strength and balance as you progress in your yoga practice. Safe and gentle modifications are explored using props to help each student get the most they can from each class.
8-week session $120 ($15 per class). Drop ins $18 per class.
