Mindfulness is a practice of non-judgemental awareness of moment-to-moment experiences and paying attention with curiosity. For people with cancer and other illnesses, being aware of one’s internal landcape creates:
- States of mind that change brain function
- Reduction of anxiety, instrusive thoughts and rumination
- Reduction in fatigue and improvement of emotional self-regulation
- Strenghtening of immune functions
- New habits for a better quality of life
