STRESS REDUCTION & MINDFULNESS FOR TEENS
1-Day Wksp/Retreat with Harriet Rubenstein, LCSW
Teens have so many demands today with school, friendships, activities and social media. Life is busy, stressful and overwhelming. As a result, many feel anxious, worried, sad or depressed. It is so important for teens to learn healthy and positive coping skills to deal with emotions and stress.
This retreat will provide skills and strategies to help them throughout their lives,
– How to be and stay in the present
– Awareness of feelings
– Experience of situations with less emotional reactivity
– Making healthier choices
– Developing strength and resilience
– Practicing kindness and compassion to self and others
Teens will learn and practice the benefits of gentle stretching, yoga, exercise, nutrition, mindfulness meditation, breathing and relaxation in caring for themselves. Self-reflection will occur through journaling, activities and discussion.
Ages 12-18. Cost $165.

Harriet Rubenstein, LCSW, certified in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Teens, has over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults. Modalities include individual, group, family and couples.
My areas of interest and expertise include mindfulness, stress management, mood disorders including perinatal and postpartum, wellness, grief and loss, mindful parenting and cognitive-behavioral therapy. The importance of helping others build upon their strengths and inner resources to achieve wellness of mind, body and spirit is an underlying value in my practice. My experience over the years, professionally and personally, has taught me that the ability to create balance in one’s life, to manage stress, to be present and to live in the moment are truly remarkable things to strive for. This becomes a way of life.
