A native of upstate New York, Courtney Paton has over 15 years of mental health experience as a counselor, Psychiatric Nurse, and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner working in the Capital District. She has treated patients in colleges, hospitals, outpatient clinics, community mental health and addictions programs. Courtney is an experienced clinician having worked for many years in acute care psychiatry, treatment of dual diagnosis, and with individuals with severe, persistent mental illness. Courtney holds masters degrees in Counseling from The College of Saint Rose and in Nursing from The Sage Colleges. She is board certified by ANCC as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, The New York State Nurse Practitioners Association, The Psychopharmacology Institute, and The Neuroscience Education Institute.
Courtney sees herself as a guide, providing the very best information about medications, psychotherapy, and holistic medicine, so that patients may make the best decisions on their path toward healing. She strives to create a warm, relaxed atmosphere where patients feel safe to share their struggles and do their most important work.
