What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Open a Gentle Door to Powerful Integration By Mana Behan

Mana Behan CraniosacralWhat’s it like to receive craniosacral therapy? Many people wonder what it is and what it’s like. With craniosacral therapy you lie fully clothed on a comfortable treatment table. With a light touch or tender hold, I gently work with the spine, the skull, the feet and/or shoulders, connecting and working with your rhythms. Through this process, release in the nervous, circulatory and musculoskeletal systems creates an opportunity for healing. You may find that pathways dealing with deeply hidden emotional issues open up. For me, this is intuitive bodywork.

People come to me with a variety of ailments and issues including chronic pain (emotional and physical), illness, disease, anxiety, depression, fatigue, and sleep disturbances, among other conditions. As with reiki and other healing touch, craniosacral bodywork releases stresses stored in the body and is a deeply relaxing, soothing energy that promotes growth, stress reduction, balance and well being. It supports the body’s natural ability to heal physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, bolstering the immune system.

People who have undergone craniosacral practice have felt a complete change in energy and experience healing on a body/mind/spirit level, a re-set in their body’s capacity to manage stressors, a feeling of improved connection to their bodies and greater calmness and wellness.
